What the heck does that mean?
You don't win by going fast. You win by not going slow. A minute per mile in the beginning can be lost in one mile at the end.
Can't run ...
...when it is raining. Respond: It is water not acid.
...when it is too cold. Respond: I do not run naked. Issue is good ventilation.
...in the morning. Respond: Getting up isn't the problem, going to bed is.
...when old. Respond: Get old when do not run.
Niggles are good (a niggle is a pre-injury). Can test form changes to fix.
If knee hurts, don't stop running, just stop using it. Change form and test shorter strides, bent knee when land, faster turnover, stop bending at waist, do not let you hips drop side-to-side, ankle behind knee when land, don't let your knee move inward towards your other knee, etc.
How to lose 10 pounds without dieting or exercise? Respond: Long posture and gut goes in naturally.
Think going too slow in the first half of an ultra...then slow down.
COLD weather! Keeping warm is not the issue. Keeping ventilated is.
In the pain cave? You have two options: Don't stop or keep going.
In the pain cave? No...it is a tunnel with light at the end.
Your body and brain say stop? It is just their opinion and they are not always right.
Hard - then easy. You don't get stronger when you are training. It happens when you are at rest. (from a friend)
